2014 Youth Olympic Games Come to Nanjing, China

The second annual Youth Olympic Games will take place this year in Nanjing, China, from August 16-28. Located in eastern China, Nanjing is an important city in China’s history, economic, and education centers. At a recent conference held by the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (NYOGOC), the 80-day countdown to the games began and a virtual torch, which has crossed 80 countries and regions around the world, touched down in Nanjing. The torch will continue its journey around the world, with stops in other Chinese cities from Shanghai to Chengdu, until the actual tangible torch is lit closer to the games.
