China “Rediscover the Silk Road” Events Continue

The Silk Road route, which winds through China and several other countries, continues to be a major topic of interest. Last week a Chinese delegation from the China National Tourism Administration and several other local Chinese tourism bureaus visited New York, Los Angeles and Toronto to promote the Silk Road. The theme, “Rediscover the Silk Road @ Beautiful China,” speaks to the goal of bringing international travelers to explore China’s incredible cultural and historic sites along the Silk Road, as well as feeds into the recent “Silk Road Economic Zone” that was recently established. Travel agents, tour operators, airlines and travel media attended last week’s event in New York.

In addition to the recent regional events, the China National Tourist Office (CNTO), in conjunction with Travelers Night In, will host a Twitter chat on the Silk Road for consumers, media and trade. The Twitter chat will take place Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 3:30pm EST. Go to www.twitter.com/VisitChinaNow or follow #TNI for more information.
