The China-U.S. Tourism Year 2016 Photo Exhibition (second in the “China Today” series of cultural exchange activities) opened on December 13 at New York’s Queens Library. Visitors and residents of New York can enjoy photos — including the magnificent Great Wall and lovely giant pandas — that present a panoramic view of beautiful China. Qiu Jian, Chinese Deputy Consul General in New York; Li Liyan, Cultural Counselor of Chinese Consulate General in New York; Wang Yanjie, Director of China National Tourist Office in New York; Leroy Comrie, New York Senator; and Peter Koo, New York City Council Member attended the opening ceremony. Qiu Jian said that although the China-U.S. Tourism Year 2016 closing ceremony was held last month, the cultural exchange will continue. The exhibition is a great opportunity to understand Chinese culture, history and development. According to Wang Yanjie, the photo exhibition featured scenic images from both China and the United States, with a total of more than 200 works by photographers from both countries. The exhibition is open to the public through January 12, 2017.
