China’s First Crowne Plaza Opens in Xishuangbanna

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently opened the 520-room Crowne Plaza Resort Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province, a southwestern province in China, near the border of Myanmar and Laos. The opening of this Xishuangbanna hotel marks the company’s first Crowne Plaza Resort in China.

The Crowne Plaza Resort Xishuangbanna has a wide range of room types and suites featuring large balconies with excellent views of the resort’s extensive tropical gardens. The exclusive Club wings also offer individual arrival areas, an outdoor private pool and lounge facilities.

The six restaurants and bars at the resort have something for everyone, including several restaurants serving up local Yunnan classics, as well as more western offerings and exciting entertainment options. A fitness center, heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool that flows throughout the grounds of the resort, complimentary kids club, tennis courts and private shade retreats complete the resort’s leisure activities. The hotel’s resort center also offers day trip arrangements to nearby attractions such as Single-Tree Forest and Wild Elephant Valley.
