China’s Tallest Building Nears Completion

In a recent article on Tested.com (a website run by the guys from the television show “MythBusters”), the Shanghai Tower was included at the top of “The Most Impressive Construction Projects of 2014.” Reaching 2,073 feet high with 125 stories, the Tower is China’s tallest building and the second tallest in the world. A spiraling glass façade is designed to withstand winds of up to 114 miles per hour and several green design features will keep the building temperate. The building is not only the tallest in China, but also houses the fastest single-deck and double-deck elevators in the world. Construction began in 2008, but is slated to be finished in 2015.
