Chengde

Perched on the mountain areas north of Hebei Province, Chengde is an important city in the hinterland of the Yanshan Mountains. It is adjacent to Beijing and Tianjin, and has a population of more than 3 million people.

Chengde is located in an area with semi-moist and dry monsoonal climate with distinctive seasonal changes, sufficient sunshine, and great difference in temperature between day and night.

Richly endowed by nature, the city’s tourism resources are tied to its appealing, mysterious land. Chengde has a number of world-class tourist attractions, including the Chengde Mountain Resort and monasteries that spread out from the city to form a golden tourism belt to the north of Beijing.
