Hangzhou is served by Xiaoshan International Airport, located some 27 kilometers (17 miles) from downtown Hangzhou. There are daily flights to major cities and larger tourist cities in China. Airport buses and taxes frequently run from the city center to the airport and vice versa.

Hangzhou is an important railroad junction in East China. Hangzhou’s convenient highway network leads to Qingdao in Shandong Province to the north, Shenzhen in Guangdong Province to the south, Yichang in Hubei Province to the west, and Zhoushan to the east.
