Harbin

Known as the “City of Ice,” Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang Province located on the Songliao Plain. With a population of almost 10 million people, Harbin is a political, economic, scientific and technological, cultural and communications center of the northern part of Northeast China.

The city is especially attractive to tourists in the winter when ice lanterns, sports on ice and the large international ice and snow festival display the Harbin’s spectacular beauty. Harbin is known around the world for its picturesque scenery, distinctive architecture, grand ice sculptures, and a strong exotic atmosphere.
