Sanya

Surrounded by mountains and water, Sanya is the second largest city in Hainan with an area of 1,919 sq km. It has 19 bays along its coastlines of 209.1 km. Sanya has a population of 540,000, including Han, Li, Miao and Hui ethnic groups.

The city has an abundance of coconut forests, tropical fruits, sand beaches and caves. As a result of its tropical climate, Sanya has plenty of sunshine, long summers and no winter, making it one of the most famous tourist cities and winter getaway in South China.
