Suzhou does not yet have an international airport, but getting there is easy through airports in Shanghai, including the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) and Pudong International Airport (PVG). The Hongqiao Airport (SHA) is 86 kilometers (about 53 miles) from Suzhou and a 30 minute bullet train ride to Suzhou. Pudong International Airport (PVG) is located 120 kilometers (about 65 miles) away from Suzhou and has airport buses running to and fro the two.
Three railway stations, Suzhou Railway, North Railway, and the Suzhou New District Railway operate many bullet trains that connect Suzhou to many cities, including Wuxi, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai among others. By long-distance bus travel, visitors can easily travel from Suzhou to Zhejiang Province, Anhui, Fujian, Shandong, and Jiangzi via three bus stations.
The Suzhou Rail Transit’s Line 1 and 2, running east-west and north-west transports passengers to different parts of the city. Taxis are readily available around Suzhou as are bicycles which can be rented east of Suzhou Railway Station.
