Taiwan

Taiwan lies like a spindle in the southeast of Asia. Geographically separate from Mainland China, the island is also known as Typhoon Island from which its name is derived. It is a rare tropical mountain-island because two thirds of it is covered with high mountain ranges. The most famous of the mountains,†Ali Mountain, is the symbol of this charming island.

Located in the subtropical ocean, Taiwan offers visitors comfortable weather sans winter all year round. With such a pleasant climate, it can sustain vast biological resources. Taiwan is worth visiting for its natural sights, such as high and steep mountains and the dense atmosphere of seashore holidays. The island has another name of Portuguese-origin, Formosa, which means ‘beautiful island’. Additionally, Taiwan has many wonderful man-made tourist attractions, such as the famed Matsu Temple and Taipei National Palace Museum. Looking  from the Fujian Province, Taiwan is neighbored by Japan in the north and Philippines in the south.

Naturally, the island has become a travel hub between cities and countries in Asia and is one of the tourist destinations with the most convenient transportation in the world.
Concurrently home to different ethnic groups mainly from the southern Fujian Province, Hakka, and local people, visitors will detect the harmonious and prosperous atmosphere in its religions, architectures, languages and dining. Not to be missed are the island’s dainty dishes – in fact, Taiwan is also dubbed the ‘Kingdom of Delicacies’ by gourmands.
During the past decades, Taiwan’s economy has emerged as a miracle. As of today, it is the primary source of foreign capital for South-East Asian countries, thus allowing the island to provide complete and high-quality tourist services and facilities.
