Mazu Culture and Tourism Festival

Tianjin is the center of Mazu culture in North China. And the Mazu culture is one of the important resources of history in Tianjin. On the 23rd day of the third lunar month each year, in which the birthday of the Heavenly Queen is celebrated, the Mazu Culture and Tourism Festival is also celebrated. During the festival, various activities are held, such as the sacrificial ceremony, display of folk customs, walking on stilts, setting lamps on the Haihe River, temple fairs, the performances of music, songs and dances, integrating folk customs, tourism, and commercial and trade activities.
