Disney to Enter Mainland China with Its Largest Store

The Walt Disney Company has unveiled plans to open its first store in mainland China in Shanghai. The 53,000-square-foot Disney Store, expected to open in early 2015, will be the company’s largest store to date anywhere in the world.

The store will be located in Shanghai’s financial hub, the Lu Jiazui area. It will feature retail space and a Disney-themed outdoor plaza area. The flagship Chinese Disney Store will be designed in typical Disney’s store format, featuring cutting-edge technologies and products from across Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars brands.

Early this year, overall design of Shanghai Disneyland and its beautiful 11-acre green space was released. You can get a closer look at the unique design and scale of Enchanted Storybook Castle, the iconic central attraction of the theme park.
