Festive Christmas Events throughout Shanghai

Shanghai is abuzz with a festive atmosphere and more than ready to celebrate the holiday season. In addition to Shanghai’s regular iconic tourist attractions, this winter brings additional holiday activities and offerings, including the following:

Merry KissMas at Shanghai Xintiandi: The renowned Xintiandi section of Shanghai will be aglow with Christmas-themed art installations, including a special lighting installation that is activated by kisses from people viewing it. Xintiandi will also host a series of exciting performances, from puppet shows to stilt walkers to dance performances.

Glass Christmas Tree: A 21-foot-tall glass Christmas tree, made from more than 100 pieces of handmade glass triangles, brings a spectacular visual effect to the central square of the Life Hub shopping area of Shanghai.

Christmas Market: From December through January 5, 2014, a Christmas Market is set up along the docks of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, bringing food, entertainment and shopping to the open-air. Visitors can sample delicious traditional food, meet with the roving Santa, and take in a Christmas Eve music show.

A glass Christmas tree, in the central atrium of Life Hub, is an eco-friendly creation made from recycled glass.
