Meditating at Potala Palace in Lhasa

Tibet’s magic-tinged capital holds a special appeal for travelers, with the city’s high-altitude mix of Buddhist temples, palaces and alpine backdrops long affording it legendary status. It was the remote abode of the Dalai Lamas for centuries, and there are a number of excellent meditation retreats on offer to visitors hoping to get in touch with their spiritual side.
