Silk Road in Times Square 2017 New Year’s Eve Countdown

The art and culture of the Silk Road was showcased on New Year’s Eve in New York as Chinese performances took over the 2017 Times Square New Year’s Eve countdown. Organized by the Sino-American Friendship Association, with support from the China National Tourist Office in New York, “Explore the Beauty of China along the Silk Road” was featured before nearly 2 million people in Times Square as hundreds of millions watched globally. The event was attended by Zhang Qiyue, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in New York; Peter Zhang, president of the Sino-American Friendship Association; Wang Yanjie, director of the China National Tourist Office in New York; and Michael Carey, New York City government representative.
