Tibet Opens Chamber of Tourism

China’s Tibet Autonomous Region has established a chamber of tourism in its capital city of Lhasa with the goal of bringing more visitors to the area. The association has been developed to promote the destination, bring in financing for further development of touristic offerings, and shape tourism to Tibet in a healthy direction. Tibet is well known for its breathtaking nature, culture and attractions such as festivals and climbing and cycling seasons. The region received more than 12 million tourists in 2013 and the new chamber of tourism hopes to continue that growth.
