Universal Studios to Build Theme Park in Beijing

According to recent reports, Universal Studios plans to build a $2 billion Hollywood-themed resort in Beijing, China. The park would be located in a suburb of Beijing, and would be accessible from downtown by monorail.

The park would cover a 51-acre site and is slated to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2014 with a January 2018 projected opening.

The Universal Studios theme park in Beijing will mark the third Universal park in Asia (joining Singapore and Tokyo).
